Sound
Diegetic Sound - This is any sound presented as originated from source within the films words. E.g voices of characters or sounds made by objects in the story.
Non-Diegetic Sound - This is represented as coming from the source outside the story space. E.g Narrator commentary.
Parallel Sound - This is when the sound we hear should suit the image on screen. E.g in a horror film, if a murder was to be attempted, dark and fast paced music would suit the action.
Contrapuntal Sound - This is when the sound on the screen does not match the action. E.g in a thriller, a car chase has classical music.
